    Taking My Cross

Thursday, May 22, 2008, 08:18 PM GMT [Life's Daily Battle]

"...If any man wil come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me." Luke 9:23

As i think about this verse, it has become a theme through out my life the past few years. When i was pastoring my second church, I went through several hard times in the ministry. I dealt with lies, false teacher, lonliness and other such battles. It became so tough at church that I felt like giving up several times. One day i was studying the Word of God and i came across this verse, and i began to think. "If I must take up the cross and follow Christ then i cant expect it to always be easy." From that day i have realized that taking up my cross meant denying my personaly wants, needs and desires and putting my life in the hands and leadership of Jesus Christ. No battle i will ever go through will ever come close to the battle that my Savior endured while on the cross of calvary. So just remember, when your road get hard and the load gets heavy. The cross you were called to bear is just a portion of the cross that Christ bore for us. Life will be hard and the ministry will get tough but our Lord will never leave us to walk through it alone. Thank you and God Bless.
